I tried find older posts about this to no avail.

So my scene settings are set to 30 fps, but every time i make a playblast (.mov) the frame rate becomes 24 fps in the ourput. When viewed in quicktime or imported as a temp file in after effects the frame rate is 24 fps. It is monumentally annoying. Is this a bug or am i missing something?  Thanks for your help  -DD

Problem also occurs on the 8 cores

Sounds like it. Maya has a had a on/off (reoccuring problem between versions) tendency not to specify framerate leaving devices using their default settings.

Lame. Thanks for the reply JooJaa, sometimes i just need to hear i'm not crazy.

Also having the same problem.  Playblasting avis at 30fps, Quicktime opens at 24fps.  Very lame.

A friend says:  "framerate is really just dictated by the metadata the rendering program writes into the file. Maybe it's just a glitch? Quicktime/AE are pretty fuggin smart.  I'll show you the workaround..."

If I get a fix I'll post

This was repaired with the hotfix3 I believe.
Just tested for you. It plays back at 30fps, tested and confirmed.

framerate is really just dictated by the metadata the rendering program writes into the file.

Yes and if you do not specify a rate the player assumes something in this case 24 fps.

Thing is however they do this particular thing the fix on top seems to me as being a hack as the glitch keeps comming up every now and then whan they change the code.
