Hi there

I´m now intrigued. Nuke X 6.0.1 has a ParticleSystem node. Does it work ? How ?
There´s no info about it in the manual !

I have a huge and tricky job which requires particles intensively. Might have to do it with After Effects instead  :frowning:

Please help !!!

It is not a nuke inbuild tool but a plugin try to find some infos from the author of the plugin or where you downloaded it.

When i need particules i use a 3D software like maya, but if you are confortable with AE you will save you troubles trying to work with a plugin that may not have everything you need and obviouslely not documented.

nothing goes against doing different things of a shot in different sofwares

cheers

Thanks for your quick reponses. You´re right in that it´s a matter of using whichever tools the goal needs...

I am very interested for this post. This site is so helpful. So i want some information for sharing this side with some of my .
friend. Thanks.

Now... i hope this will not be seen as "advertising" or something, but i think, it is worth mentioning that RedGiant has released an OFX / NUKE Version of Trapcode Particular. Might be specifically interesting since you mention, that you wanted to do the Parts in AE...

There are even some introductory tuts to Particular for Nuke on TheFoundry´s website.

You will maybe be happy to know that the inbuild nuke particule system that i was talking about should be released in NukeX 6.3 this summer
