i'm looking for a 360 degree MR lens shader for maya 2009. i've tried both the latlong and js_panoramic, but no dice.
i've tried both of these shaders in maya 2009 OS X, win 32 and 64. no dice.

i need this functionality in order to generate an HDRI environmental map of my scene for various secondary illumination methods.

i'd also like to know if anyone's aware of a different/better approach.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for the time.

Make a sphere or cylinde rthats 100% reflective but has no specular highlights then bake with mr using the orthogonal tracing on. This works tough im not sure it categorizes as a better approach.

As for js_panoramic, it should work. tough no biggie theres a exampkle on how to make a spherical lense shader in the maya included MR manual.

talk about occam's razor. i'm making things more complex then they need to be. thanks again.

i'm gonna bake the sphere out for now, but maybe it's time to learn to write some MR shaders.

jooja for president!
