Welcome to the new! has now returned to our original namesake of Highend3d. was our original name started over 19 years ago.  CreativeCrash was a convergence of Highend2d and Highend3d which used to be 2 separate sites.  As the official partner of many software companies; Nothing Real (Shake), Chalice, Apple, Autodesk, and Discreet, we saw a shift in both ownership of these software applications and ultimately loss of these partnerships and support, leaving CreativeCrash mostly focused on 3D, with a bit of legacy Shake and some Nuke users.  With that in mind we felt it was best to return to our roots and focus on our 3D strengths; thus the return of! is packed with new features, new paradigmns and new ways of doing things.  We know there will be a big adjustment for our loyal CreativeCrash users, but rest assured we are working through sections to ensure the best user experience possible.

One of our main new focuses is finding content easily.  You will notice a new top menu that shows all sections and subsections so that you can easily navigate the entire the site from wherever you are.  We have also completely rewritten our search and from the top menu you will now find an inline autocomplete search to help you find any content on the site without leaving that page.

Another focus is on readability.  You can see this through the new layout as well as with the new forums which let you see all posts from a main view as apposed to navigating in and out of specific forum categories.

This transition was a major port of decades of content and consolidation of sections/technologies.  Expect some bugs and lots of things changing over the next month as we see what works well and what doesn't.  We thank you for all of your support!

Told you so right after the creativecrash change. That site was nearly unnavigable, chaotic and finding things was a pain in the ass. Well done.

Hah! Some of us are old enough to remember we originally evolved from out of!
( from the terms of service I believe we are still privy to be part of: " The Lumis Network "?

Now I might B suffering the onslaught of some perty batty senility setting in amongst my grey matter cob webs...
But I sorta remember that there was a stab at establishing A highend2D as well that concentrated on Shake and Chalice work/assets as well? ( before Steve Jobs evil empire bought out Ron Brinkman's Nothing Real and made Shake Apple only until he let it rot and decay and abandoned it altogether... )

On the Bright side Ron Brinkman went on to also become a founding employee at Sony Imageworks and his seminal book on digital compositing is still my all time favorite reference on the subject!

    Even though he penned:

"The Art and Science of Digital Compositing"

    Back in 1999...
The wealth and breadth of cg compositing know how found in the book remains unrivaled for it's level of technical savvy and for it's coverage of industry insider "insight" whose relevance is still without comparison!

If there is such a tome that comes close to 1 upping Ron's expertise sharing their wealth of professional know how in a single encompassing volume...
I sure would be might grateful to hear of it!
( and very well possible considering I admiittedly haven't had to refer to anything else save for the odd trade related technical article here and there for newer topics like new HDR gamut considerations, 3d and VR etc )

    But I digress much...!

And also let's start a petition to demand that Will bring back the list servers!
    Those I truly miss!
( The good ole days when 90% of the brand new Maya upstart software's golden tidbits of information was gleaned from scouring the insider goodies shared there back in it's infancy! )
