Weighting breaks when limbs stretched

Date:05/08/2014

Hey man. I love this auto rigger, it's fantastic. I'm experiencing a problem though. I am using the toon arms and when I set up all my weights so it's all nice and good with the arms at scale 1 everything is fine. But when I stretch the arms, the weighting seems to shift. I'm not sure what's actually going on under the hood but it seems that there are somehow double transforms happening to the skin geo. Basically where I weight the elbow to be at scale 1, is not where the elbow joint is when I scale it to 2. This wouldn't be HUGE, but then the weighting for the arm gets super wonky when it's scaled out like that.

I'm hoping this makes sense and you know a solution. Is there a node somewhere that could be affecting this? Like maybe whatever math is going on to do the nice volume preservation is adversley affecting the weights when stretched so far?

Hi, would you be able to send me your file with the weights already set up? That would really help me isolate exactly what is going on. Thanks! -Dustin

I try to avoid posting my email address on the forums as bots have a way of picking them up. But if you go into the third tab of the Rapid Rig: Advanced UI window, my email address is there. Apologies for the wild goose chase :) -Dustin
