Hi, varun, Any chance to update the script to work with Maya 2012 x64? I was looking for an alternative solution of UV Autoratio and found this. After tried it in Maya 2012 x64, it seemed not working. Got a error message when "pick the checker size": # Error: NotImplementedError: Wrong number of arguments for overloaded function 'new_MScriptUtil'. Possible C/C++ prototypes are: MScriptUtil() MScriptUtil(int) MScriptUtil(short) MScriptUtil(float) MScriptUtil(double) MScriptUtil(unsigned int) MScriptUtil(bool) MScriptUtil(MIntArray const &) MScriptUtil(MDoubleArray const &) MScriptUtil(MUintArray const &) MScriptUtil(MUint64Array const &)

I used getUVarea function from the maya classes through python. I think it cannot be used with MEL, because it doesnt allow you to use functions from Maya classes like python. To know more about it see the definition of the function get_sel_faces_UV_ratio in the script, this is the core of the script. My script calculates area of uvs, and that of the polygons, and then scales the UVs so that different objects have the same ratio of uvs to polygons, i.e. same checker size. Although right now its not working in version 2011, I have to fix that when I get time

Hi ! Where do you find the getUVArea() function? I have ' t found it in the Mel Command reference...Is there a procedure for calculating the area of a poly object, or the UV area? It seems a good ideea to make one from scratch. The renderheads charge money for a plugin that calculates the ratio from the area of the object and the uv area, then calculates the area of an object's uvs, then scales the uv's to match the ratio. At least this is what i suspect . Your scrip does the same, no? Thanks !

NOTE: The script was made for Maya 8.5 and gives problems in later versions. I have to modify it for the later versions. Will do so when I get time
