Hi Michela. Many ways of running the script. The easiest way to show the UI would be: 1. copy the script to one of your script paths (for example run "internalVar -usd" , no quotes, in a MEL tab or MEL command line, to get your user scripts folder) restart or execute "rehash" command and then run: craOBJSequences; or 2 . You can drag and drop the file to the Script Editor (MEL tab), or Load Script from Script Editor and then execute it and afterwards execute: craOBJSequences; or 3. Source Script from script editor and then execute: craOBJSequences; or 4. Optionally you can Load the Script in the Script Editor, then put: craOBJSequences; at the end of the script, select all text, middle-click drag to a shelf to create a shelf button. Click the shelf button. -

Hi Andy. Which operating system? I'm under Windows 7 x64, Maya 2014 and I just downloaded the script again from here to see if it's something about the download and works ok. Try to download it again and place it in one of your scripts folders. Run "craOBJSequences" after restarting Maya or running "rehash" command. It should work. You can also try to copy the contents of craOBJSequences.mel and paste it in the script editor in a MEL tab and run it in order to see if it spits any errors. Then run "craOBJSequences". I should work too. -

Which Maya version are you using Jones? This tool is currently supported and tested under Maya 2011 and up. -

Works flawlessly in 2013. Thank you! To add this to your 'custom' tab - > open script editor (bottom right corner icon) > switch to MEL > type craOBJSequences; > highlight the text, and middle mouse drag it to your custom (or other) tab. You can then edit however its displayed - right click and edit the icon. -

Thnx for the script. I've just been trying an obj sequence export from Blender to Maya, which works brilliantly, except that the materials don't seem to get assigned in Maya. They transfer in from the mtl file OK, but don't make it to the object. This is with Maya Student 2014, and exporting from Blender 2.69rc2. Any ideas on what might be going wrong? Cheers -

Hey CharlieWales, Great script, and by far the most robust and fastest OBJ exporter I've used yet. I did find a bit of a bug when exporting animation that is more than a thousand frames long, my system started running out of RAM (32GB). I looked into it and noticed there was no cache clearing going on after you export each OBJ. There is an easy fix and it seems to speed thing up a bit as well. Try adding flushUndo; to the script before it progresses to the next frame where you have currentTime -e ($i+1); this will clear the undo cache, which I don't think you'll need anyway if you're exporting a sequence.. Tested in Maya 2014, Windows 7 - 64 bit Thanks again for the script! -Lossless22
