Can't Get the Script to Work

Date:01/30/2018
Submitted by: ThatOwlGuy ThatOwlGuy
Hi Charlie, sorry to have to ask this question, since you are probably tired of hearing it by now, but I've encountered a problem with the script. I drag the .mel file to the script editor window, and then I go to command; execute. It seems to execute the script. However, no UI shows up after this. I've also put the .mel file in the scripts folder in the project folder. So do I just have to double click that .mel file after executing the script, or do I have to do something else to get it to work? I'm about to test if double-clicking the file after executing the script works. Sorry again for the wall of text :p

    UPDATE:
    I tried out my theory. All it does is open up a blank project in maya. I tried dragging the .mel file to the command shelf as well, and when I tried to execute it, I got:

    //Error: Line 1.5 Syntax error

    I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've tried sourcing the script as well, and that doesn't work. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong. Do you have any advice?

    Thanks!

    UPDATE 2:
    Tried typing "run: craOBJSequences" (without quotations) in the script editor after executing the script. That doesn't work either, and gives me
    //Error: Line 1.4 Syntax error
    So yeah, I've got no idea how to get this to work.

    MAJOR UPDATE!

    Got the script to work! Just open the script in the script editor, then execute it. After that, scroll down in the top window of the script editor until you find

    Main procedure:
    craOBJSequences;

    Copy the "craOBJSequences;" (No quotations) line (make sure you include the semicolon!) and then go down to the bottom of the Maya window, where you'll find a shelf labled "MEL." Click in the dialogue box, and then paste the line of code you just copied. Then press enter. Credit to PawnozTV on YouTube for showing me the correct steps.
