Hi harry
I had download ur rig and when i open it in maya 8.5 there is some problem with the skin it gets streched specially on face might be the smoth node u have used come above the cluster

as i state in the description this rig is for maya 2010, if you are editing the .ma so it opens in 8.5 it will be causing you errors, i havent tested any of it in older versions of maya nor do i plan to at this stage. other feature requests will be added to this rig soon, harry
