Feature Request

Maintain Maximum Influences

This tool would be simply amazing if there was a way to maintain max influences while painting average weights. Could you please look into adding that? Thanks so much!

When using the average weights tool, it will average between all influence bones in your right, and sometimes adds a vertices to many influences. When you originally smooth bind a skin to a skeleton there's an option to limit how many bone influences a particular vertices can be influenced by "Max Influences" Maintaining these max influences is important for some game engines like Unity. They can only handle a maximum of 4. So it would be really awesome if while using the average weights brush if it there was a setting to only average vertices to maximum number to prevent them from being assigned more than game engines will allow.

Hi Justifun, I did some quick experiment with maintaining max influences with the python version of the plugin. Could you test this out for me? https://www.mediafire.com/view/rnunqaayxrkovsh/averageVertexSkinWeightCmd.py The maintain max influences value is derived from the skinCluster node itself, so you can directly set it there. I'm looking forward to make the plugin more tidy and translate it to C++ if this works out. Thanks
