Version History

Beta 2.2
- Added: core_car_paint shader
- Added: core_dirt shader
- Added: New light “core_env_light”
-Added: RLM License Manager - allows for easier licensing including nodelock, floating and evaluation licenses.
- Added: Render globals interface shows how many days till license expires and notifies when license isn’t installed or has expired.
- Added: Post Only output override under settings in the render globals. This only renders post passes but takes opacity and transparency into account. Useful for rendering depth and point information at higher resolutions.
- Added: Render pass presets.
- Updated: core_tiled_textures shader renamed to core_uv_tiles with simplified interface
- Updated: Global environment light now has option to blur the environment texture instead of using multiple samples
- Updated: Core Environment shader:
     - Now contains built in mia_env_blur shader to blur the environment when using glossy reflections
     - Each ray type (secondary, finalgather etc) no longer falls back to default environment if no texture is attached
- Updated: Core Material now works correctly with mia_env_blur shader
- Updated: Several new API functions and bug fixes
- Updated: Added new shaders to documentation
- Fixed: Attaching override shader to Maya fur description node now works correctly.
- Fixed: Artifacts in ambient occlusion.
- Fixed: Unified sampling works correctly with render passes
- Fixed: Point camera pass had incorrect information
- Fixed: A few other minor bugs.

Beta 2.1
- Added: Support for Maya 2012
- Added: core_texture_lookup shader
- Added: core_tiled_textures shader
- Added: core_colour_grade2 shader
- Added: Beta license extened till 1 November 2011
- Updated: Most texture shaders now have a proper outAlpha output
- Updated: Documentation includes new Beta 2.1 shaders
- Fixed: Major memory leak. All material shaders should now use much less ram, and notice a significant performance increase.
- Fixed: Error loading core_hair AE template
- Fixed: Render globals corrupted when loading a new scene
- Fixed: Render passes not working in batch render
- Fixed: Hide Maya passes tab option removed as it was causing issues and not that useful.
- Fixed: Error when linking objects to passes that have another object in the scene with the same name.

Beta 2.0

- This is a massive redesign of MentalCore and brings it more in line with our idea of the final polished product. Lots of ideas and experience from beta 1 have been incorporated into this version and we hope to get a lot of great feedback.

Beta 1.2.1

- License's extended till 1st March 2011.

Beta 1.2

- Added: Core Colour Grade. Colour grading shader based on Nuke's grade node.

- Added: Colour ramp control for Core Hair. Root to tip colours can now be adjusted with built in ramp.

- Added: Reflectivity BRDF ramp control to Core Material

- Added: Background image attribute for Core Lens.

- Added: Overlay image attribute for Core Lens. Gives ability to overlay a image or logo with a alpha.

- Added: Core Grade shader can be plugged into Core Lens for advanced grade controls.

- Added: Textures applied to lens shader now operate in raster space.

- Added: New Ramp specular for Core Material

- Added: Beta License's extended till 15 Janruary 2011

- Fixed: Final Gather now works with Core Hair shader.

- Fixed: Core environment now works with rasterizer.

Beta 1.1.1

- Fixed: Bug where bump connections to core materials were being made incorrectly

- Fixed: AE Template bug related to core environment preview

- Fixed: Presets for Core Mia shader now packaged with installer

Beta 1.1
- Added: Core Hair Shader. Shading model based on the hairTK shader, but with a host of new features including better compatibility with shave and a haircut.

- Added: Core Vector Displacement Shader. Only object/world space maps are currently possible due to issues with mray & mudbox.

- Added: "Affect Environment" option in globals under Camera Settings.

- Added: "core_tonemap" gizmo for Nuke. Reproduces the same tonemapping result as the lens shader inside Nuke. Automatically copied to users .nuke directory during installation. To use, press x key in the node graph and type "core_tonemap".

- Added: Normal Map attribute on Core Mia shader.

- Added: Attributes on the Core Material to turn off energy conservation on reflections and refractions.

- Added: Presets for Core Mia shader.

- Added: New "Custom Shader" option for "Output Mode" in globals. A custom shader can be plugged into globals to override all shaders while retaining normal map, displacement and cutout opacity settings. Bump is not preserved to allow for same results with Core Mia Materials.

- Added: New way to override the shader on Maya Fur. Under the fur description node, there is a section called MentalCore with a attribute for a custom shader. Plug either a shader or shading group in to override the shader on the fur. Shader must have a shading group connected to it.

- Added: Preview Core Environment in the viewport

- Added: Support for Maya 2011 32bits on Windows

- Fixed: Can now convert mia_material_x_passes shader to Core Mia materials using the MentalCore menu
