ever need to repaint the textures on a character's face because the geometry needed to be rebuilt? ever need to paint a seemless transition beween two pieces of geometry?

use the qShapeProjection node to transfer a texture from one surface to another.

1. start with an ugly seam.
2. fillet between the pieces.
3. use a qShapeProjection node to transfer one of the textures onto the fillet. bake it out.
4. use another qShapeProjection node to transfer one of the other texture onto the fillet. bake it out.
5. pull the two baked textures into photoshop and use them as a guide to paint a nice mask.
6. apply the mask, and TA DA!

download the maya scene file to see how all this stuff wires together.
