Feature Request

Good stuff.. 2011?

Hi there... Just like to thankyou for whipping this great mel script together, I've been able to create some pretty nifty cable and rope animations that would have taken me ages to rig and animate properly. Wish list is now to have a script that will run in MAYA 2011?? That would be perfect... Works up to 2010... Thanks again for giving away a great little time saver like this one.

Actually the script works ... just make sure your scene is in centimeters or inches. For some weird reason the wireDeformer won`t keep the nurbs geometry around the curve if the scene is not in the above mentioned units. I`ll look into it to see if i can find the cause of this weird behavior.

Wow, thanks for prompt response.. nice to know it can work in Maya 2011.. i must be doing something wrong then, but i can't figure out what.. watching the debug info i can see that the script is indeed loading, (scene was already in centimetres) What i'm getting instead is this: // Error: Object's name '' is not unique. // No idea what that's referring to. I can load the script fine in 2010.. but no go with 2011 yet. Thanks for the info though.

ok guys ... have a look, version 1.5 is online and it`s working on Maya 2011 x64 as expected (on my system, at least).

Great work again Sanctuary :) Works in Maya 2011 32bit as well, incase people were wondering. Awesome stuff... I have just one final question that i haven't been able to figure out from using it. Is there a method to build a cable that is dynamic, but able to pose it into starting position, like coiled up on the ground and then pulled out straight dynamically... Thanks again mr. mel ninja.
