Q/A

Window size

Submitted by: Gudjon Larusson Gudjon Larusson
The window size is messed up in maya 2016. It is too small so I cant select colors. I managed to make it bigger so I could use it but then It covered the entire screen. After I restarted maya I was unable to make the window big again:(

Hello, Sorry for the inconvenience. This is a common problem when windows are locked by the sizeable -flag. In the future I think that I'll just make all windows sizeable to avoid this problem - but until then, this is what you can do: 1) Open up the NSB.py file and search for pm.window Then change the flag called "sizeable" and set it's value to "True" without quotation marks. 2) Alternatively you can close Maya, and go to the Maya user script directory -> prefs (usually located at c:\Users\ YOU R USER \Documents\maya\ VERSION NUMBER \prefs\ ) and then edit the file windowPrefs.mel In there, simply remove the line containing NSB_mainWin You can go with number 2 there for any kind of window you have problems with. It's common that when you move prefs from one computer to another that something like the Outliner ends up off screen (happens if you go from 2 to 1 screens).
