This script will build a virtual version of that Michael Bay favorite - the Technocrane. This simple script builds a camera rig that will allow you to quickly animate those sweeping moving camera shots for which Mr. Bay is famous. Like a real TechnoCrane, this rig by created this script:
1. Has a telescoping camera arm, with a base that rotates in X, Y, and Z
2. Has a camera mount that rotates in X and Z (independently of the arm)
3. Has a camera that can rotate independently of the camera head in X, Y, and Z
To make it easy to use, I've put all the neccary controls for the camera in the camera base. The rig can be "dollied" on its own or using path animation.
While you could simply move your camera through the 3D space, and not use a rig like this at all, you'll find it easier to visualize what the camera's real-life counterpart is doing through the use of this rig.
Download the script, source it, then type "build_TechnoCrane;" in the command line.
