Turn selected meshes into voxels over the current frame range. This can easily generate many thousands of cubes, so start with small meshes (< 10 units), a large cube size (>= 1 unit), and a small frame range (< 20 frames) first, then work your way up to more complex scenes.
Usage: select one or more meshes, set your active frame range, paste this script into a Python script window, and run!
Only tested in Maya 2009 on Win XP. If it doesn't work for you, please let me know how it breaks and I'll see what I can do.
03/02/10 - I have one report that the script does nothing in Maya 2010... I'm investigating now.
