This scene file is based on the one I use for most of my product visualization work. I find it difficult to create a light setup from scratch every time when I use the mia_material shader. Also, when used in conjunction with the maya or even MR phongs, blinns, and lamberts the mia_material textures I use turn up much too dark. So I have made this simple scene, with 2 point lights, an ambient light, and a setup of geometry to give me a neutral, yet dynamic environment for reflections, etc.
The materials provided are relatively simple. The 'concrete' texture is one I'm stil working on and should be ready for a full release soon. The glass materials are based on presets found on the web, and the brushed metal map is my own (not included) so that will not show up.
There is also an occlusion render layer, so you'll need to add your objects to it to get AO.
Note on compatibility: the 'scene' itself is a Maya ASCII file should work with most recent versions of Maya, but the 'mia_material' shaders I've included will not work below version 8.5 since it requires both the shader lib and the proper version of mental ray only incuded in version 8.5 and above.
Hope this is helpful.
