One of the most popular techniques in compositions is the "Rule Of Thirds". ruleOfThirds.mel creates a camera and puts a grid in front of it dividing the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically.

Your key elements should be placed at the intersection points to create more dynamic tension in your image (you shouldn't center your point of interest because that's the most boring position...).

A display layer is created to toggle the grid on and of. The grid always stays the same relative size (as long as you change the focusLength, angle of view or toggle the resolution gate on and off, but it won't work with film back settings other than the standard ones, a 4:3 ratio is essential).

Hopefully this script helps you creating more interesting image compositions...if you want to learn more about the rule of thirds search for it in google or so...;)

Tip: A common usage would be to place your near ground object at one dividing vertical
line and a distant object on the other...
