Hi Jan. I get an "fatal error" message and maya crashes every time I type "jlCollisionDeformer()" in the script editor. Any idea what the issue could be? I am using Maya 2008. -

Hi Afro-Lion, thanks for your comment. I did this plugin only for learning purposes and I released it here to share this knowledge. It was never meant to work in a real production. Generally Python plugins are slower than C++ plugins as they are not compiled prior use. Cheers! -

It's a great plu-gin however I have severe lags and latency issue, even with low geometry meshes. Is this normal? I have a decent computer and I use 2014. -

This is a normal behavior, since this a non-dynamic deformer. Simply put, the vertecies of the colliding mesh always move to the closest point on the collider mesh without "knowing where they were before". -

is it just me? but like in the picture thats about as far as it can collide before vertices go haywire and penetrate the mesh? is it supposed to be like that? -

Very very nice. I am testing it on fat characters . Collision elbows, arms and the torso, etc. Sorry for my bad English. :)
