Hi Jan. I get an "fatal error" message and maya crashes every time I type "jlCollisionDeformer()" in the script editor. Any idea what the issue could be? I am using Maya 2008.

Hi Afro-Lion, thanks for your comment. I did this plugin only for learning purposes and I released it here to share this knowledge. It was never meant to work in a real production. Generally Python plugins are slower than C++ plugins as they are not compiled prior use. Cheers!

It's a great plu-gin however I have severe lags and latency issue, even with low geometry meshes. Is this normal? I have a decent computer and I use 2014.

This is a normal behavior, since this a non-dynamic deformer. Simply put, the vertecies of the colliding mesh always move to the closest point on the collider mesh without "knowing where they were before".

is it just me? but like in the picture thats about as far as it can collide before vertices go haywire and penetrate the mesh? is it supposed to be like that?

Very very nice. I am testing it on fat characters . Collision elbows, arms and the torso, etc. Sorry for my bad English. :)
