Feature Request

mirror Left and Right control rotations

Status:added
Date:06/22/2014

In gimbal model the Left and Right controls should mirror rotations. Animators love to grab both clavicles/or FK arms/elbows and rotate them so the pose is mirrored. I know that there is a pose mirror option via the UI but would be great to have all the right and left controls behavior mirrored.

For the first release of the tool, it was far less complicated to build it the way I did. I agree with you completely and I am planning version 2.0 to have this functionality. For the time being, users are stuck using the RRM Selector script to do mirroring. Not as ideal, but at least it's a work-around. -Dustin

It depends. The mirroring is custom task. FK rotate handles should be mirrored as mentioned above so with rotations. But IK handles(legs) should stay in default state(Z axis forward, X axis side and Y axis up) because animator is working in world space or in world space with slight offset but still both legs are moving forward and up the same way.

Agreed, FK is the only mode where mirroring should be from one side to the other. IK in the arms would work the same as IK in the legs, just like FK in the legs would mirror like FK in the arms. -Dustin
